Whitlow set to leave the club

Whitlow, who remains on a playing contract at Notts, will return to Bramall Lane to work under his former boss Neil Warnock.

Whitlow made nineteen appearances for Warnock during the 2003/2004 campaign, before Gary Mills captured his signature in the summer of 2004 bringing the experienced defender to Meadow Lane.

Whitlow... Going back to Sheffield United
It is said to be a done deal, with the only stumbling block being the playing contract he has at Notts, meaning the move cannot be made until the summer.

With no reserve or youth fixtures, and just eight players to work with in the youth set up, it is not entirely sure what kind of role Whitlow currently has, making the move all the more likely. Indeed, the majority of the youth players at his disposal are currently out on a work experience basis at various non-league clubs.

The former Leicester and Bolton ace was given a coaching role under Gudjon Thordarson after allowing young stars Stacey Long and Jake Sheridan sign deals using some of the funds he received as part of his contract at the time.

He made 29 appearances for Notts, none as yet this campaign.

NCM wish him all the best for the rest of the season with the Magpies, and hope he has every success in his new role at Bramall Lane.
