“The Championship have got a million and one games to play in a short space of time and they can’t fit friendlies in, so that’s null and void,” said Ardley.
“Anyone in League One and Two that are still training at this point are playing in the play-offs and would have played the play-offs by the time we get towards that point, so they’re out of the question.
“There’s not many teams training and there’s not many teams that really we can play, so it’s something that’s very difficult.
“We’re looking into it, we’re going to squeeze every possibility dry to get a competitive game if we can in, but the likelihood is slim.”
