Turmoil at Meadow Lane

Following on from yesterday's troubling reports in the Nottingham Evening Post, more conflict appears to be brewing.

Reports this morning suggest that head figures of the Supporters' Trust could be ready to issue a vote of no confidence to their representative board members, John-Armstrong Holmes and Eric Kerry.

Reasons behind the attack stem from claims that they have been denied access to the club's financial information.

One of the seven Trust board members involved in the public cry of concern - Stuart
Rolley, Paul Whitby, Mike Scott, Cheryl Thompson, Paul Gibbs, Steve Thompson or Keri Usherwood - explained the situation.

"We have repeatedly asked to be given access to the club's finances," they said to the Evening Post.

"We have asked for financial information; for a copy of the predicted cash flow between now and the end of the season and for details of cash at bank.

"We have been told that the club does not have a projected cash flow forecast and, what concerns us more, is that we could have £1m or £1 in the bank.

"We just don't know. We were elected to the Trust board to represent the best interests of fans but, at the moment, we are not able to do that.

"Will this result in a vote of no confidence in the two Trust representatives on the club board? I think that is inevitable."

The anonymous figure added: "As Trust board members we welcome consideration of any potential sources of income into the club.

"However, as members of the Trust board which represents the majority shareholding we have at no stage been formally made aware of this particular approach and we find the timing of this announcement disturbing.

"We have no idea of the current financial position of the club despite repeatedly asking for financial information.

"We demand an immediate independent financial audit to ascertain the financial stability of the club.

"We are also deeply concerned about the letter dated February 3 from the City Council highlighting serious breaches of the ground safety certificate."

Notts' Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes declined to comment.
