The Kit 2005/06 :: It's your vote

Last updated : 15 April 2005 By Richard Brown

The decision to put the kits to a public vote, the decision that the club announced only this week, follows that of many other clubs nationwide who adopt this method of deciding the designs for their shirts.

Kit suppliers, Errea supplied the club with three protocol designs that have been proposed as potential designs for the club’s home strip for the 2005/2006 season.

However, the club has been restricted to make the voting procedure a one-day affair to avoid the votes being thrown by those wishing to vote more than once.

The voting will take place from 11am onwards in the club shop tomorrow, where the three proposed designs will be displayed for those wishing to vote to run the rule over the designs before recording their vote.

At half time at the Grimsby match tomorrow, staff from Hooters bar, Nottingham, will parade the designs around the pitch.

The Kits

As you can see from the above graphic, all three designs opt away from the V-stripe design that the club’s home shirts currently boast, reverting instead to the ‘traditional’ black and white stripes. The club’s new-found marketing and advertising cash cow, super-model Mike Edwards kindly fashioned what it is the cool kids will be wearing this summer…

Kit A – Design boasts a mainly black base covering the shoulders with white piping rolling away down the sleeves. The shirt – much like that of the 2003/04 season – will be made with a black square of material on the back of the shirt to comply with Football League regulations regarding numbering and lettering visibility. Shirt also has V-neck type collar.

Kit B – Shares much of the same design as Kit A, but with the main exception being the main body of the design is white, as opposed to black making for a much more fresh and stylish look. Again with V-neck collar, the piping included is black and, as with Kit A, white mesh – similar to the baby blue used on this season’s away kit – is used under the armpits for further ventilation.

Kit C – Much different to the previous two proposals in that the shirt sports a black collar, as opposed to the V-neck design as previously featured. Adopts a black shoulder area, with black spacing for numbering and lettering on the back. White trim used to compliment the collar, meshing and sleeve areas.

How to Vote

Voting will take place in the Club Shop until 6pm, after the shirts have been paraded around the Meadow Lane pitch.

Alternatively, fans can vote via text by texting either NOTTS A, B or C to 88442. The service will be in operation from 11am onwards.
