The 27-year old, who agreed to a two-year deal this week despite missing-out on the final few weeks of the campaign, is said to be responding well to the surgery to remove a piece of a small shard of bone from his ankle and remains optimistic over a return to training in time for the squad’s preparations for the forthcoming season.

The much travelled winger, who joins David Pipe and Steve Scoffham on the club’s long-term casualty list over the summer, is expected to re-unite, along with Pipe and the rest of his team-mates, for pre-season training at the start of July.

In other news today, new assistant manager, Darren Gee has told of the possibility yet another trio to joining the squad even after snapping up 20-year old, former-Derby youngster, Chris Palmer.

Talks are said to be underway with three unnamed players in the form of a defender, a midfielder and a striker.
