"It is only a small increase and we are hopeful that fans will realise why it is necessary," Richmond told the Evening Post.
"All round, it was our intention to increase costs for everyone by around £1 a match.
"I think for most people it works out that way. We didn't want to push things up too far.
"But the income from season tickets is going to be vital to us.
"Last season the club sold just over 2,000, we would be hopeful of maintaining similar levels this time round." He added.
Season tickets are on sale as of today at Meadow Lane.
