Last summer Notts took on the Robins at The New Manor Ground and finished easy winners by beating Ilkeston 5-0.

Paul Bolland netted twice, with Mark Stallard, Darren Caskey and Ian Baraclough also on target for Billy Dearden's men, who included Malta international Luke Dimech in the team as a trialist.

The summer before that Notts sent a youth side along with Saul Deeney and Mark Warren to take on Ilkeston in a pre-season game, with Notts having to withdraw their first team because of a number of injuries with the 2001/2002 season just days away/

Both sides battled out a 1-1 draw, with Mark Warren on target for Notts with a header following a corner.

It was also 1-1 the summer before that, as Jocky Scott's men prepared for the 2000/2001 season with a visit to The New Manor Ground. Mark Stallard gave Notts the lead in the first half, before Ilkeston levelled in the second half. The Magpies included trialists Mark Perry and David Joseph in the game.

The previous summer saw Sam Allardyce's men win 4-0 at The New Manor Ground, with trialist Martin Aldridge on target twice as Notts ran out easy winners.

Notts nearly suffered a defeat to The Robins in preparation to the 1998-1999 season, but a last minute own goal meant Notts left The New Manor with a draw.

Sam Allardyce set up a tough pre-season schedule ahead of the 1997/1998 season, and sent a strong squad out against The Robins at a rain soaked New Manor Ground, who easily won 5-2.

Craig Dudley found the net twice for Notts, with Sean Farrell, Devon White and Gary Jones also on target.

Before the 1996/1997 season Notts draw 2-2 with Ilkeston, with all the goals coming in the second half. Ilkeston took the lead before Gary Martindale and Vinny Arkins put Notts ahead, before a late goal by Ilkeston meant Keith Alexander's men shared the spoils.
