Lincoln City's Spencer Weir-Daley

On loan striker from Forest, Weir-Daley is certainly impressing Imps fans at the moment. His brace gave City a 2-1 win away at leaders Walsall on Friday night.

After the Imps went down at Meadow Lane two weeks ago, many expected the Imps to fold at the Bescot Stadium, but shining star Weir-Daley has got pundits backing City for the title as the season draws to a close.

Four away goals from the striker so far has urged Imps Director of Football John Deehan to openly praise Lincoln's new marksman.

After seeing Lincoln's new acquisition in action so far, Deehan claims he will do whatever he can to keep the Leicester born youngster to stay at the club.

Weir-Daley, 21 was brought to Sincil Bank in the January transfer window and has so far proved an instant hit with the promotion chasers.

Weir-Daley...Player of weekend

Two goals while on loan at Macclesfield earlier in the season convinced Schofield to bring in the lightning quick front man, in a decision that is paying rewards.

Never started for Trent neighbours Forest, it is now at Sincil Bank that Weir-Daley is finally showing potential. He looks a capable deputy to suspended Jamie Forrester as Lincoln push to make the step up to League One.

Relatively unknown in the football world, with more performances like this Weir-Daley could quickly become a well talked about figure in England's lower leagues.
