Platt has a verbal agreement with Notts that he will sign for The Magpies once they come out of administration, which is set to be in the next few weeks.

He has been training with Notts for the past week or so, after initially looking set to move to Bristol Rovers he admitted he was going to join The Magpies, and despite being made an increased offer by The Mariners after initial interest from Groves, he looks to be moving to Meadow Lane.

"It's just about dead now." Said Paul Groves, the Grimsby boss.

"There's still no sign of him changing his decision and it's time for us to move on." Added the disappointed Grimsby Town manager, who will now have to step up his search for a new striker.
