Platt, a 6ft 4 striker who is out of contract at Rochdale, is to sign once Notts come out of administration, despite shaking hands on a deal to join Bristol Rovers a few weeks ago.

The striker revealed last week he would instead be moving to Meadow Lane once the administration problem was sorted, which sparked comments of legal action from Bristol Rovers following his U-turn.

After a week of silence, Ray Graydon has spoken out, and admits he is hurt by what has happened.

"Clive's a lad I know, someone I understand and I thought he would be good for the club, " Graydon told the Bristol Evening Post.

"We shook hands on a deal so to say I was disappointed with what happened would be an understatement.

"When you look someone in the eye and say you are going to do something, you expect it to happen.

The deal was all but signed and sealed.

"To put it in context and the boot on the other foot, I would never go down the route of telling a player I was going to take them and then not do it."
He added.
