Those three took 93.5% of the vote, with Simon Baldry, Andy Parkinson and 'other' trailing behind.
On another occasion, Heffernan might well have won it, but the Irishman declining a new contract at Meadow Lane and, more recenly, announcing he'll be off to bigger and better things, has been a hard pill to swallow for some Notts fans. As time wore on, the striker received less and less votes and, 21 goals or not, had to settle for third place with 22.1% of the vote.
Club captain Richardson got many fans votes, not only for his consistent performances and being one of the few players who's shown any commitment ON the field, but also for being one of the few players who really showed his support while the club was in Administration.
The defender turned up at the Auction Night and his wife also raised over £700 bucket collecting outside of Asda. However, this wasn't quite enough to get 'Richo' the award and he came in a close second with 35.2% of the vote.
So, the eventual winner was David Pipe. The former Coventry man has been outstanding during his 18 games for Notts and seemed to be one of the clubs star performers in almost every game he played in.
While his outstanding performances made him a frontrunner, it was the news that the previously on-loan full back had signed for the club on a permanent basis that tipped the balance.
Commitment to the cause, as the versatile 20-year-old was prepared to drop Two Leagues and take a paycut to join the club. Top man, Pipey! The Welshman beat Richardson by just 1%, pulling in 36.2% of the vote.
