Piccolo deal scuppered

For business purposes Juventus would obviously rather receieve money for the hot Italian prospect instead of lending him on loan.

His impressive performances at right back for the Italy U20's, which saw them reach the final of Toulon tournament, has sparked interest from a number of clubs.

Our Italian source told us: "The deal to send Piccolo to Notts County on a years loan was agreed, with the final details to be sorted after the Toulon
Tournament."

"However, after his performances Italian clubs were offering £1.5 Million for his services, and that is clearly something Notts cannot compete with."

"It is a bitter blow, but, Billy Dearden will now have his pick of players from the Juventus reserves rather than being given the players."
