The statement, on Notts County FC official site, read: ‘Our aim is to end every transfer window with a stronger squad than we started it with, while always making responsible decisions with the long-term financial sustainability of the club in mind.
We’re confident that we’ve achieved those objectives this summer and have every belief that, while League Two is shaping up to be an extremely strong division once again, the squad we’ve assembled is capable of competing for promotion.
Our ambitions are reflected in our actions throughout the window, with 13 quality signings arriving at Meadow Lane and several substantial bids for our key players, right up until the end of the window, being rejected.
While there are never any guarantees in football, the club is in a strong position both on and off the field to build on our very promising start to the season and we’re excited to see how the campaign unfolds.
Thank you to our fans for your fantastic continued support. We look forward to seeing nearly 1,000 of you at Swindon tomorrow.’
