Notts County fan given a refund after train station fire

The Magpies fan rang the train company about the incident and he was offered the full £67 back within five days.

However it took 15 days for him to receive his refund. Speaking about the delay he said "I checked first thing this morning and it wasn't in. I feel fobbed off and disappointed more than anything.

"It is a frustrating situation, I wouldn't have bothered if it was like a tenner but these days nearly £70 is a lot of money. It's more of the principle if anything.

"We had planned this for weeks, a big away day."

"When we saw what happened at the station we had genuine concern. We saw on social media football fans were being advised not to travel for the game, because they didn't know if the station would re-open in time.

"Having to cancel all our plans and drive up did put a damper on the day. But the game ended in a 2-2 draw and Notts County played well.

"It's frustrating as there isn't much I can do other than keep ringing them up. The proof is in the pudding, it's just a shame it's taking this long."
