Strang and Bhatia were announced as preferred bidders four weeks ago, and with the deal still not completed there was been plenty of disappointment and tension amoung Notts County supporters as to what he been happening during the past few weeks.

"I can offer my absolute assurance to fans they have nothing at all to fear," McEwan told the Evening Post.

"There have been some delays and it has been frustrating for everyone, not least us.

"But I am confident the situation will be resolved in the very near future. I am expecting that the takeover will be completed either by the end of this week or, by the very latest, in the early part of next week." McEwan continued.

McEwan also admits that plenty of work has been going on behind the scenes at Meadow Lane, and once the takeover is completed it will full steam ahead.

"We will be able to get moving from the very moment everything is sorted out," he said. "Once the takeover has been completed, we will be able to secure the final details on a lot of different things.

"We have two or three players who have agreed to come to the club and we will be able to get them to put pen to paper officially.

"Plus there are a lot of final details to iron out with our pre-season trip to Italy and potential further link-ups with Juventus.

"We have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes. We have a lot of ideas and plans we want to put in place. But we are not able to finalise any of them until the takeover is completed."
