No regrets for Mills

For the enthusiastic and ever-optimistic figure of Gary Mills, there could have been no worse way to christen his first job in management than relegation. But when asked what he'd do differently, Mills insists that he'd have changed nothing.

Although Mills could not turn the good ship Notts County to calmer waters, wholesale changes have been made both on and off the pitch with a host of new players and backroom staff alike being recruited as well as the deadwood being removed.

Since arriving at the club in January, Mills has managed to snap-up a grand total of eleven players on long term deals, a further four (all released) on a non-contract basis whilst allowing a figure close to that of his long-term arrivals to move on in a bid to restructure the club's crippling wage-bill.

And just as Mills told the club's Official Site today, he remains optimistic that such changes can help pave the way for a backlash from relegation.

"I was criticised towards the end of last season for coming to this club and being enthusiastic but that's me just being myself and there's nothing false about it."

"I was only too pleased to come here and take this job on and that still remains the case, it's no different."

"We'll bounce from relegation, I believe that."
