After turning professional in 1994 with Huddersfield, Simon has had frustrating career so far, which has seen him make fewer appearances than he would have liked because of injuries and lack of form, but at his best he is a winger who likes to take players and get plenty of crosses in to the strikers.

1996/1997 and 1997/1998 saw Simon make around 20 appearances in all, and he found the net once for The Terriers during those two seasons, the only goal in a 1-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion.

Simon had a month long loan spell with Bury at the start of the 1998/1999 season, but after five appearances from the bench it was back to Huddersfield, where he had to wait a few months before forcing his way back into the side, where he was a regular from January onwards until the end of the season.

He made 22 appearances during the 1999/2000 season, scoring one goal which was a last minute winner against neighbours Barnsley in Huddersfield's 2-1 win. Simon also appeared against Notts for Huddersfield that season, when he came on for the last ten minutes of a League Cup match at The McAlpine, which saw Huddersfield win 2-1.

2000/2001 season saw Simon make 30+ appearances for The Terriers, who were relegated from Division One after a terrible run mid-season. Simon found the net twice that season, both resulted in Huddersfield wins over Portsmouth and Crewe Alexandra.

2001/2002 saw just 7 appearances from Simon because of injury problems once again, and last season Simon made 20+ appearances for Huddersfield who were relegated from Division Two.

He was in the starting 11 against Notts in Huddersfield's 3-0 win over The Magpies in October, while he found the net 3 teams during the season, before being released at the end of the season.

Simon made 166 appearances for Huddersfield in all, scoring 10 goals.
