The Notts manager said "I can't be any more complimentary about the way in which the players have gone about their business for the first half of the season.
"Goals win games and we are ferocious around the box, but I am equally as pleased with the way in which the teams works to stop the opposition from creating chances and stopping them having spells of possession with the ball.
"I don't have much cause for complaint and I hope the players can continue that.
"To score four goals and we didn't have Macca (Macaulay Langstaff) on the pitch is showing enough evidence that we can function.
"We love having Macca in the team because he is so important to us of course, it's impossible to argue that he is the number one striker in the division.
"We need to be able to win games without him and today was proof of that again."
