Lincoln cost Notts £10,000

The actual figure for the damage to seats, in which 100 were ripped out as Notts powered into a three goal lead courtesy of Jay Smith, Jason Lee and Lawrie Dudfield, is £4,000.

However, such was the need for a greater police presence at the local derby that eventually finished 3-1 courtesy of a late Spencer Weir-Daley consolation, that a further £5,000 bill has been incurred. The usual bill for police at a home game is just £500.

Lincoln brought nearly 2,500 fans, in a total attendance of over 7,000, the highest home league gate so far this season.

Shortly after the damage was originally revealed Notts Chief Executive Geoff Davey released a statement which appeared to lift the blame off the Imps due to the size of the crowd being “forgivable”.

However, the revised bill seems to have changed Davey's opinion. Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post he said: “There has been, over the last two years, an increase in the number of seats in the top half of the Kop being damaged and it is true a lot more of that happened when Lincoln visited.

“We are pursuing some of those offenders and we are seeing if it is possible to be recompensed in some way.”
