Legg connection's fractured

The veteran defender, who was rumoured to be set for a return to Notts County on what NCM understand to have been a player-coach basis, will be out of contract at the end of this month when his initial twelve-month deal at London Road expired. But despite Gary Mills admitting today to the Official Site that he had made enquiries regarding the availability of the Legg, Barry Fry came out to defy such rumours; speaking of his expectation for Legg to renew his contract with Posh as and when he reports back next month.

Rumours of the 36-year old defender arise everytime the future of the long-throw expert is plunged into doubt, most of which are pure fabrication.

Legg parted company with County when Fry was manager of Birmingham City, leaving Notts for £250,000 - twenty-five thousand pounds less than the then Magpies gaffer, Mick Whaller payed out for the Welshman's services. Since then, Legg has failed to find stability with a number of clubs, his longest time at any club post-Notts was at Ninian Park, where he stayed for four-and-a-half years. Legg can, however, boast a career spanning 17 years, turning out for nine different teams, making the best part of 500 league appearances at club level.

"I spoke to Andy on Monday and he assured me that despite interest from other clubs when we report back for training on Monday 28th June he will be putting pen to paper on the two year deal I have offered him," Fry told the Peterborough Official site.
