“The lads will be stepping up their preparations and there will be others who go to another game,” Nolan said.
“We have games here there and everywhere. It’s pre-season and we want to make sure the lads are ready for August 4.
“We don’t want to be exposing them to lots of minutes at the end of pre-season only for them to break down and not be available for Colchester.
“I don’t mean any disrespect to any other club, but it’s only a short window to get the lads fit and raring to go.
“The majority of the lads will get 60 minutes. The rest will fill in here there and everywhere.
“We will then try to expose them to game-like practices or running after the game.
“I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully, we will achieve a number of things and different outcomes in terms of what we’ve been working on the last 10 to 12 days.”
