Abbott said “[Notts play] a similar way to how I’ve played at Tottenham [in the academy] so there shouldn’t be too many big changes for me personally and I think I will fit in quite nicely for that reason.
“I know they like to keep the ball a lot and not go long too much which suits my style of play. I’m a defensive midfielder, but I see myself as being quite versatile and can play in multiple positions if needed.
“I like to get on the ball and progress the play forward and link the defence to the attack. Winning titles at U17, U18 and U21 level [with Tottenham] was good, but that doesn’t compare to men’s football which is always a big step up but it is something I’m really looking forward to.”
