Fresh start, crisp look and new badge

The introduction of the new club crest [pictured left], selected using the input of supporters and new sponsors, Paragon interiors alike, will be launched with immediate effect amidst the club’s preparations for the 2004/05 campaign in which Gary Mills and his men, fronted by the new-and-improved club insignia, will be looking for an immediate return to the, also renamed and redeveloped, Coca Cola First Division - formerly the Nationwide Division Two.

The new design, which boasts an arresting, brass-look background behind the traditional Magpies, will, as opposed to the previous design, no longer adjoin the club's established and long-standing nine-striped, black and white blocks which previously featured on the club's badge which, for me, seems the most questionable of the changes.

The latest motif will feature on all club merchandise as well as the forthcoming kits, said to represent a 'new club'.
