Experienced defender Ian Richardson and Wales U21 International midfielder Michael Brough have both come to a verbal agreement with Billy Dearden to extend their careers at Meadow Lane.

"We have reached verbal agreements with both Michael Brough and Ian Richardson," Dearden told the Evening Post.

"They are both willing to sign new deals with us as soon as it is possible for them to do so.

"They are both back in training with us and both want to stay.

"I don't see why there should be a problem."
He added.

The hardworking Brough has made 89 appearances for The Magpies since turning professional in 1998 after progressing through the youth team, and was rewarded for his improving performances last season with a callup to the Wales U21 squad.

Richardson joined Notts in 1996 from Birmingham City and is the clubs longest serving player, and has over 200 appearances since his move from St Andrews for £200,000.

His ability to play in defence and in midfield made him a key member of the squad last season, and Dearden is keen to hang onto Richardson.

Both of course won't be able to pen new deals until the club comes out of administration, and when that might be is a question that supporters just don't know the answer to at the moment.
