Magpie's striker Lawrie Dudfield has penned a contract extension at Notts County ahead of the club's end of season play-off run in.

Dudfield has eight goals to his name this term and has of late been the perfect strike partner for in form Jason Lee.

The much travelled front man told the official site how pleased he is to finally get a bit of stability in his career.

“I am delighted to be staying.

I said from day one when I signed this was the club I wanted to be at and I wanted a long-term future here.

"To be given the chance to settle down is great for me.

“I'm pleased my future is sorted as well and I've just bought a house in Nottingham, so I'm glad I can settle down and hopefully I can continue to produce.”

Dudfield's spell at Notts didn't start ideally as he was in and out the side with no real opportunity to impress, but he has since enjoyed a good run in the team and has seemingly nailed a first team place.

Important goals from Dudfield against Lincoln, Swindon and Crystal Palace this season has made him a fans favorite since his time at Meadow Lane. With his future no longer in the balance, it is now that Notts supporters can really look forward to seeing the best of ex-Boston man, Lawrie Dudfield.

The 26-year-old marksman arrived at Notts County last summer under Manager Steve Thompson's Meadow Lane shake-up and it is this season that has seen Dudfield produce his career best goals to games ratio.
