Allsopp Celebrates One Of His 29 Goals Last Season
Allsopp had a dip in form at the start of October, and had continued to look out of sorts for around a month and luck was just not on his side with chances not going in the back of the net.

Dearden decided to put Allsopp in the reserves after being dropped from the first team, hoping last seasons top scorer could hit a goal or two and get back on track, which he did.

"Danny was a little out of sorts so I decided to leave him out" said Dearden.

"But I stuck him in the reserves and told him to get his confidence back by scoring a goal - then I would take him off."

Dearden placed faith in Allsopp at Southport, bringing him back in the side in place of Paul Heffernan, and Allsopp repaid the faith Dearden showed in him by netting 2 goals.

"I think he had 4 chances at Southport, and for a striker to score 2 out of 4 is a pretty good ratio." Dearden added.

"Now he seems to be back in the groove hopefully a few more goals will be forthcoming."
