Dearden Explains Fenton Withdrawal

Fenton was adjudged to have brought down Andy Fotiadis and Uriah Rennie pointed to the spot, which angered Fenton and his other Notts team mates who all believed Fotiadis had taken a dive.

The former Manchester City defender Fenton was still incensed some minutes after the incident so Billy Dearden decided not to take any chances and took Fenton off and replaced him with Simon Ramsden.

"As soon as the penalty was awarded we said that we had to get him off, whether they scored or not," Dearden told the Evening Post.

"I was convinced he would have been sent off if we had left him on."
