Manager Ian Burchnall said "I am pleased that he came on and then came off at the end and felt good.
"That was important. His performance was great and that's just an added bonus for me.
"But the biggest thing for me is that it's been a long while since he has been out playing on the pitch.
"He got out, he had a good experience and he feels great off the back of that which is good for everybody.
"The fact that he scored a great goal and contributed massively to the game was a huge plus."
