Billy - “We can't afford to lose any more players from the squad”

Dearden told the Evening Post that he will not tolerate anymore cuts to the already depleted Notts squad.

Because of a long list of injuries Billy simply cannot afford to let anymore players go if Notts are to keep themselves away from the Division 2 relegation zone for the rest of this season. Although obviously the club needs to cut down on some wages if they are to get out of their financial troubles.

Billy will be unable to add to the squad in the near future because of the club being in administration, which means he will have to wait even longer to make his first permanent signing for Notts County.

Dearden says that he will have the final say in whether he lets anymore players leave Meadow Lane.

"If I have my way, there will be no more players leaving. And, whether offers come in or not, I do not want to sell anyone." Dearden told the Evening Post.

Dearden also talked about his reasons for letting Marcel Cas leave to join first division high flyers Sheffield United.

"It was totally my decision to allow Marcel to leave,"

"He was not having the best of seasons and, in the scheme of things, it was a decision I made with the best interests of the club in mind.

"It was obviously going to save us a considerable amount of money between now and the end of the season.

"But, despite the fact he was not performing to the best of his abilities, it is still another body we have lost."
