Baraclough on his way

Mills revealed to BBC Radio Nottingham in his post match comments, that he has decided to release 33-year-old Baraclough after deciding not to offer the versatile player a new contract for next season.

After the 'other Ian' at Meadow Lane (Ian Richardson) who is the longest serving member of the current squad, Baraclough is the only other member of the squad who was involved in the 1998 Division Three title winning side.

Baraclough played his football at Notts County for 3 seasons from October 1995 before moving south to London side QPR in March 1998 for £75,000, but rejoined Notts County on a free transfer in June 2001.

The left footer has shown how versatile he is, when often in recent seasons he has been used in a variety of positions of late.

He has made 115 apperances for Notts County since rejoining the club in 2001 and has scored 5 goals, picked up 18 yellow cards and only been sent off once in that time.

This season, the former QPR man has had a mixed time.

He was a regular team player under ex-manager Bill Dearden but failed to impress new manager Gary Mills and has recently found himself used sparringly by the new boss.

We, at NCM would like to thank Ian Baraclough for all the hard work he has put in for Notts County over the years.
