Gary Mills career record

Playing career:

Gary Mills was born on 11th November 1961 in Northampton. Mills started his career at Nottingham Forest in 1978 and was part of the European Cup winners’ era. He had a loan spell to rivals Derby County during the 1982 season, where he made 23 appearances for the Rams. He returned to Forest and stayed there until 1987 when he joined NOTTS COUNTY for two years before joining Leicester City, where he made 96 appearances and helped them gain promotion to the Premiership.
Mills then left Leicester City and rejoined NOTTS COUNTY from 1994-1996 for a fee of £50,00 but even he couldn’t help us avoid relegation in the 94/95 season and consequently left Meadow Lane on a free transfer in May 1996 after making over 100 appearances for the club in both spells at the club.

Non – Playing Career:

Mills then set up on his journey into a career as a manager. Since retiring from playing football he has managed the likes of
King’s Lynn, Grantham Town and Tamworth before being appointed reserve team manager at his previous club, Coventry City in 2002, where he has been employed until today when he was appointed as first team manager at Notts County, replacing Billy Dearden who resigned earlier in the week
