Schofield…Expects a tough game
Imps chief admits that the Magpie's ability to play in a number of different styles could cause big problems to his side.
“They mix up their game pretty well, they can play from back to front, likewise they like to get it down and play.”
With ex-Lincoln boss Steve Thompson under pressure to get results at
Having known the Magpie's boss throughout his career, Schofield is fully expecting a physical encounter.
“Knowing Thommo, they'll be very organised and it's a local derby, so they're going to be fired up.”
Imps Manager also adds that friends aside, it is important for
He emphasises: “It's irrelevant what goes on in the other dressing room, if we play our football, we'll be a match for anybody.
“Every games a must win game, we want three points in every game.”
Schofield is also in good spirits ahead of the Imp's season run in. City are third in the table at present and will be looking to further build on their recent form which has seen them lose just one of their last twelve league games.
“We need to pick up the pace and make a bit of a surge.”

City full-back admits this is the strongest squad he has seen during his time at Sincil Bank. With the strength in depth of this term's players, Mayo is looking forward to the final sixteen games.
Mayo…Wary of Magpies
An ambitious Mayo said: “You've got to set your targets high. Our main priority is to finish in the top three but why not go for the title.”
The 26-year-old is also surprised that County are still outside the League Two play-off places. He says: “I'm surprised they're not higher up the table with the players they've got.
“The whole teams full of quality really, I'm sure they'll be up there by the end of the year.”
Like Schofield, Mayo is expecting a stern test from Notts, but in particular the threats of Magpie's striker Jason Lee as well as midfield duo Ian Ross and Andy Parkinson worry him most.
Speaking of the forwards recent form, Mayo said: “Jason's Lee's been banging in the goals for them recently, he's a right handful.”
The Imps left-back is likely to be facing Parkinson down the wing. Mayo spoke highly of his counter-part. “On his day he's one of the best in the division, he's quick and tricky”.
Despite holding the Magpies in such high esteem, Mayo has no doubt that the side can do what it takes to claim three points from their trip to
With the black and whites renowned for their long ball football, the Imps defender has urged his team-mates not to be phased, but instead to stick to their usual style of play. He is confident that
“Once the game settles down, hopefully we can take control of the match and open them up with some passing and movement; hopefully it will be them worrying about us.”
