"It drives me on"
Richard, many fans see you as a favourite of theirs mainly for your share grit and determination. What runs through your mind when the fans shout “Liburd for England”?

Obviously it's a good feeling, It drives you on. Sometimes I hear it but when I'm in the thick of the action I don't really hear it. But when I hear it before the game it makes me feel brilliant and makes me want to do well for myself and for the fans.

What do you think to your own individual performances this season?

I think I've done alright. Obviously I've been out a while. I think I've done alright before I got injured. And now, obviously we're struggling but I've kept working hard. I've had a couple of decent games and a couple of bad games to be fair. But at the end of the day I am always going to work hard and I think that's important.

Obviously the results for the team haven't gone as planned, why do you think the results haven't gone Notts' way ?

Well, definitely since I've come back I've seen three games away and three games at home. When we've been away, we've put some good performances in. At Wycombe we were unlucky. I think we created enough chances to win the game at Wycombe. And at Swindon and at Reading we were the same. Especially at Reading, we were unlucky with the goals we conceded. But at home I think we haven't played aswell and as a team we haven't defended well, so that's why we've lost. We've got to be a lot more positive at home. We're not as positive at home then as we are away from home. So we've just got to be a lot more confident and positive at home. I think starting from the game tomorrow at Stoke the results will go our way.

What are your interests outside football ?

I like sports, I like watching a lot of sports. I like reading and listening to music. I like reading confidence building books and things like that.

What is the difference between Jocky and billy in terms of his ways, his tactics and things like that?

Billy is alot more laid back
I think Billy's alot more laid back than what Jocky was. Billy wants you to go out their and express yourselves and show him what you can do to your full potential. Whereas Jocky wanted you to play a certain way and do certain things and he gave you a lot more instructions, and Billy want's you to go out on the pitch and express yourself.

Notts aren't firing on all cylinders at the minute, where, realistically do you think you'll end up this season?

Well obviously I am always going to be positive and if your not positive is isn't going to get you knowhere. So I've got to say that we are going to stay up. Especially if we can turn our away performances into home performances and play aswell as we do away from home. Then I can definitely say we are going to stay up because all we've got to do is string a few results together and we'll be out of the relegation zone. The teams around us aren't winning games either so that's obviously a bonus for us.

Who do you think the best all round player in this division is?

"There are alot of good strikers and center midfielders"
I think that's hard to be fair because there is a lot of good strikers and a lot of good center midfielders. But I've only seen many players this season due to me being out. But the standard this season is extremely high. There are a lot of good players in this division.

Which 4 teams are going down in this division?

The two that are in the bottom now, Northampton, Cambridge and then Wrexham and Bury. And we'll just sneak out of it.

Gary Brazil – seems like a nice bloke, But why do you think it didn't work for him at Notts?

When he's came in this time it's hard for him to be fair, because we were already struggling. He hasn't had any money to bring in new players and he's still working with the same players so he's still got the same problems that the manager before had. And confidence was low. So it's always hard for a manager if he can't bring in new players.

What has Billy Dearden done to try and get the team playing well again?

I think he's tried to give us confidence. He's tried to show us that when we go out their on the pitch we need to express ourselves and that we have got to be positive and that's the main things that he's done since he's come here. I think that's all he can do really.

What do the team need to get themselves out of this relegation battle?

"We need to continue to be positive"
We definitely need to continue to be positive and start producing better performances at home and as a team we need to be a lot more tighter defensively.

Where has the season gone wrong?

We've started losing a few games on the bounce. Football is a lot about confidence and when confidence starts going it looks as though the good players are bad players. But they're not bad players it is just the confidence has gone a bit. I think that's what it all boils down to at the end of the day.

Are Notts County going down to division three?

Definitely not.

Do you have a message for the fans?

“Just keep getting behind us like you have been doing”. In the last three home games that I've been playing in and we've not been playing well the fans have really got behind us and that's what we need. But obviously, we need to repay them by start producing some good performances and get some goals and not to conceed any. “So just keep getting behind us and we will turn it round”

Thanks to Richard Liburd for answering the questions. I also tried to Interview Ian richardson today but Roger Cleary, the Physio sent him home because of injury. I then wanted to do an Interview with billy Dearden but Robin Chipperfield, the Radio Nottingham interviewer was with him and then Billy was in a meeting. However, I will send someone next week to interview Billy and if you would like to ask him any questions then simply CLICK HERE
