Wycombe continued their impressive run of never losing to Notts County at Adams Park, beating the struggling visitors 3-1.

Home striker Richard Harris was the chief architect in County’s downfall, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes before leaving the field before the break with a suspected pulled muscle.

The Magpies started brightly and it was against the run of play that Wycombe took the lead.

Harris robbed Craig Ireland and easily beat keeper Steve Mildenhall from the edge of the area.

Just four minutes later Wycombe went further in front once more through Harris who was County’s destroyer.

He picked up the ball on the edge of the area following a pass from Dannie Bulman, cut inside and lashed the ball past the flailing Mildenhall into the bottom corner.

County continued to look dangerous going forward and Wycombe keeper Frank Talia had to be alert to save at the feet of former Wycombe striker Mark Stallard.

The home side went further ahead just before the hour mark. Stuart Roberts, who had come on as substitute for the injured Harris, scored his first goal at Adams Park, curling a 25-yard left-foot shot home.

The shot flew past the despairing keeper to nestle safely in the bottom right-hand corner of the goal.

The consolation goal for County came from Stallard who picked up a loose ball which the home defence failed to clear, to score his 15th goal of the season with 20 minutes of the game left.
