Notts are now six points a drift from safety and are now second from bottom. It is unreal.
Notts started off alot better than they did against Northampton on Tuesday, but that wasn't hard. The passing was nothing special and the movement was as it always has been this season - anonymous.
In the first half Notts managed to keep hold of the ball but Oldham refrained the Magpies from making any sort of move.
In the first half, Leam Richardson and Paul Heffernen attempted to score, but they both missed wide of the target.

But it was the referee who provided the entertainment in the early stages. Mr Parkes didn't miss a thing and was a humourous character. His back was erect like an Ostrich's neck and when he ran he looked like a one thousand five hundred metre sprinter as he galloped along the pitch. He did well today and this time Notts couldn't blame the Ref. They could have blamed the wind and terrential rain in the latter parts of the game. But the summary is - they just aren't good enough.
In the second half Oldham started off much brighter and they had a game plan to hit Notts early, they did just that. A looping header on 46 minutes saw the first goal for the Latics, this header from Paul Murray.
On 52 minutes Stuart garden prevented Oldham from scoring, when David Eyres ran down the left hand side and he hit a shot at the Scottsmans legs.

Heads were down and as the rain poured down in absoloutly buckets it set a picture for me, i looked at the scoreboard i looked at the stadium, i looked at the fans faces and i looked at the team. I came to the conclusion that Notts county this time next year would be playing third division football. it was a truthful picture.
