Oh for Fox sake!

Magpies 0-2 Foxes
County unveiled the new kit which did look rather nice but the Magpies were always second best in tonights encounter.

Notts started off Okay but they took their foot off the pedal and started hoofing long balls up the pitch. Mark Stallard tried to keep the ball down on tbhe floor, and he played some very classy moves.

Early on in the first half Darren Caskey wrecklessly challenged Muzzy Izzet. The ref had a word and said to the Notts bench "If you don't sub him now, then I will send him off". Darren immediately left the pitch and was replaced by the young Michael Brough.

Dickov picks upon the loose ball, tusselling with Fenton
Leciester could and should have took the lead. A shot was fiercely hit by one of the City players and the ball hit the underside of the bar and bounced off the line into the safe hands of Stuart Garden

It was Leicester who thought they had the lead when Gerry Taggart headed the ball into the back of the net, only to find out the the goal had been ruled out due to a push on a Notts player.

Dickov - shoots and scores, Stone tries to block
It was the trialist Ramsden who let the ball slip on 44 minutes. Dickov took full advantage and he whipped the ball into the back of the net to give City a won nil lead as the teams went into the Interval.

At half time, It was Albert Scardino who came to build on his excellent reputation of having a good rapport with the fans. He came down to speak with a few of the Notts supporters in the "Main Stand". Because the letters from the Derek pavis Stand have now been stripped off. It is completely white now.

Playmakers
Notts had a few chances in the second half, mainly created by the Indespensable Mark Stallard. Ian Baraclough tried to chip Walker, but the former Spurs goalie was never really put under white hot pressure throughout the ninetie minutes.

Over the course of the game Paul Bolland hit a few woefule shots. But he did play well overall.

Leciester finally sealed the victory off as the Invincible Muzzy Izzet hit a shot deep into the second half. Garden was wrong sighted and wrong footed, unfortunately. And the Turkish man scored a very well placed goal to seal a good City performance.

I don't think Dearden was there tonight. I didn't see him anyway. But he wont be too pleased with this display if he was their. But the bottom line was that Leciester were better overall. A strong back four. A whippet of a player on the right hand side in Matthew Piper and Muzzy Izzet, well, will he be with Leicester this time next season? I think not.

Fenton battling
The new trialist Ramsden wasn't bad. Hardly the next Steve Finnan at right back though. And Dimech, well where has he gone to? And Richardson hasn't officially signed a contract yet, he has only signed it verbally. So that is why he didn't play. Allsopp doesn't look fully match fit but the Foxes defence was very good anyway and they made it difficult for the big Aussie.

So it seems we have a harder opposition this Friday with John gregory's outfit - Derby County. Ravenelli, Christie, Rob Lee, Barton, Riggot, Strupar, Poom and a good young player in Adam Murray. This isn't going to be easy now is it?
