A goal-less first half saw young Italian keeper Ali Bacherini by far the busier of the two goalkeepers, making a number of outstanding stops to deny the home side taking the lead.

Early in the second half Teversal took the lead when Lee Whetton fired home the ball just inside the far post, past the helpless Bacherini.

Falling behind was obviously the wakeup call Notts needed, and responded with two quickfire goals around the hour mark, first on the scoresheet was Kris Nurse who turned Shaun Harrad's cross over the line.

And a few minutes later sub David MacGoldrick fired Notts into the lead for the first time with a brilliant solo goal.

Notts rounded things off late on when Harrad scored from the penalty spot to make it 3-1, and the impressive MacGoldrick rounded things off a few minutes later to secure the victory.

The Magpies included young striker David Kettle in their starting line up, he was signed from Teversal during the close season after an impressive trial at Meadow Lane last season.
