Grant frustrates Magpies

Joel Grant struck in stoppage time to earn struggling Wycombe a deserved 1-1 draw at Notts County.

The away side's gameplan went straight out of the window after just 44 seconds when Ben Burgess rose highest to meet Alan Sheehan's corner and head the Magpies in front.

County failed to kick on from there and were largely restricted to long-range efforts, while Wycombe were looking dangerous on the break.

They were unfortunate not to level in the first half when Scott Donnelly's header was saved at full stretch by Stuart Nelson.

Lee Hughes missed a golden opportunity to double the hosts' advantage shortly before the break when he poked wide with the goal gaping.

Wycombe were much the better team in the second half, and nearly levelled after 79 minutes when Stuart Beavon's header was tipped over the bar by Nelson.

However, the visitors made their pressure count when Grant wrong-footed Nelson with a shot from outside the area to give Wycombe a point.
