Notts County 0-2 Mansfield- Match Report

Stags stun rivals at Meadow LaneGoals from Chris Clements and Ryan Tafazolli proved the difference at Meadow Lane as Mansfield claimed a 2-0 derby victory at Notts County. It was a a pulsating, full-blooded contest from the off in the first league clash between the sides since 2008, with referee Tim Robinson showing four first-half yellow cards. The first meaningful chance fell for the impressive visitors after just six minutes

Nathan Thomas looked certain to score but was somehow denied by a combination of Roy Carroll's outstretched leg and the crossbar. But the Stags did break the deadlock 10 minutes before the break, when Matt Green sent Clements through and he made no mistake in sliding the ball under the advancing Carroll. The energetic Thomas stung Carroll's hands from out wide soon after half-time, before substitute Jimmy Spencer was wasteful at the other end when presented with a half-chance to equalise.Mansfield were not to be denied a second, and with 10 minutes left Malvind Benning's cross to the back post found Tafazolli, who leapt higher than Haydn Hollis to secure the points for the Stags
