Match Ratings....Vs Kidderminster

(6 Average)

Wayne Henderson- 7, Top-class debut from the on-loan Aston Villa keeper. A completely assured display, which included all you can ask from a goalkeeper. Even gave rollickings to defendings 10 year's his senior when neccesary.

Kelvin Wilson- 8, A diplay that belied his tender years. The 18-year-old stood firm on the right of the back 3 and coped well with the power of Diop. Capped his best ever first-team display with a wonderful goal line clearence.

Julian Baudet- 8, The new darling of the Magpie faithful. In Whitlow's absence, Baudet stepped into the heart of the defence with ease, and was again a commanding presence, while also providing a threat at offensive set pieces.

Ian Richardson- 7, Another solid display from 'Richo', despite now seemingly being a pitiful THIRD in-line for the captaincy. A threat at attacking set-pieces.

David Pipe- 6, Not quite living up to his heroics at the back end of last season. Quiet game ended with him being substituted in the 72nd minute.

Paul Bolland- 6, Pick of the three midfielders. Though, that's hardly the bigest compliment I could have paid him. Showed he's still got a big part to play.

Matthew Gill- 5, Looks exactly like all the dozens we've let go over the past few years. Gave the ball away frequently and barely added anything to the game. Has a handy long throw, though.

Mike Edwards- 4, Was he on the pitch?

Rob Ullathorne- 7, Stand-in captain and the left wing back didn't disappoint. Hit the bar with a rasping right footed drive and stuck to his task of marking the lively Brown well. Looked far happier when Scully came on to help him out down the left-hand side.

Gavin Gordon- 6, Led the line reasonably well, without ever really looking like scoring. Linked-up the play well, but his height gives the other players an excuse to launch the ball forward.

Glynn Hurst- 5, Hit the bar with an overhead kick, but never really got into the game. Work rate was poor, as was his distribution, and it was no shock when he was substituted with 15 minutes remaining,

Subs

Tony Scully (Edwards- 59)- 9, Star man. Despite being nowhere near 100% fit, the lively Irish winger was by far Notts' best player when he came on. Ran past previously untested defenders time and time again, and was a real bright spark in what was an otherwise lifeless midfield.

Shane McFaul (Pipe 72)- 6, Failed to get into the game.

Matty Williams (Hurst 77)- 6, Struggled.

Not Used: Mildenhall, McIntyre.
