Match Ratings...Vs Chesterfield

(6 Average)

Pegguy Arphexad- 3, Where do you start? Was largely to blame for the goal and looked a bit of a calamity all afternoon. He gave them chances twice in the first half when he had the ball in his hands. Surely Deeney will start next Saturday.

David Pipe- 9, Star man. Surely we should do everything in our power to get Pipe on a permanent basis. Failed to react to the headbutt that got their idiot sent off, and did nothing to provoke it. Immense in the second half.

Nicky Fenton- 8, Back to his best. Had a solid game even in the first half, where the conditions were unplayable. Scored the goal and didn't neglect his defensive duties either. A solid days work.

Tony Barras- 5, Poor again. Distribution is terrible, really terrible, he just seems to have no idea. Lucky the conditions were hardly ideal for strikers, so it didn't cost Notts too much. Can't see his contract being renewed at the end of the season.

Ian Richardson- 6, Another solid display was ruined by his third own goal of the season, and this one was actually partly his fault. Arphexad should have called, but he has to admit it was an error on his part too. Will be as gutted as anyone.

Andy Parkinson- 8, Great to have him back. Ran riot in the second half where he created three chances for himself, by himself. Unlucky not to score but did very well by all accounts.

Paul Bolland- 7, Was lost amongst the wind in the first half but came good in the second. Nearly scored when he hit a left foot shot just wide and gave his usual 110%.

Stefan Oakes- 8, Looked far more happier without Caskey alongside him. Even in the first half he was always looking for a pass and looked like a player at a higher level. Desperately unlucky not to score with a stinging drive that whacked the crossbar. Delivered the perfect corner for the goal.

Tony Scully- 7, Busy & industrious on the left without ever really getting near the heights he reached in mid-week.

Paul Heffernan- 6, Could never get into the game in such conditions. His threat was easily nullified.

Matty Williams- 5, A poor debut, but it's unfair to judge him as the conditions were just unplayable. Easily muscled out of it.

Subs

Steve Scoffham (On 73-Williams)- 5, Ineffective in difficult conditions.

Frazer McHugh (On 86- Pipe)- 5, Gave the ball away every time he got it.

Not Used: Deeney, Baldry, Baraclough.

Best Opposition Player: Ian Evatt- A solid centre half who was probably the reason Chesterfield didn't fall further behind.
