(6 Average)

Steven Mildenhall- 6, Harsh to blame him for either goal, although was involved in a mix-up for the first. Had little else to do, was involved in a scuffle at the end with one of the friendly Tranmere lads towards the end.

Nicky Fenton- 7, Was played out of position again but handled it well. His best display in a while, after a poor run of form of late. Looked much more like the Fenton of last season.

Danny Livesey- 6, Patchy. Partly to blame for their first goal and was caught in possesion at times. Made a couple of crucial tackles though and regained his composure somewhat, in the second half.

Tony Barras- 5, Had a poor game in my opinion. Looked shaky and could of fell behind Fenton in the pecking order. Our weakest defender today.

Ian Richardson- 8, Was withdrawn on 40 minutes, but was outstanding up to that point. He even got forward down the left flank a couple of times, as well as his usual saving tackles in defence. Head injury may keep him out for the Ipswich game.

Simon Baldry- 7, Restored to his preferred position on the right and he looked much more at home there. Came into the game more in the second half and set up Stallard's first. Was brought down in the area when through on goal.

Paul Bolland- 6, Was withdrawn at half time, due to an apparent dead leg. Gave his usual workman like performance in the first half, without setting the world on fire.

Michael Brough- 6, Was never really in the game. Did a couple of interceptions, tackles etc, but him and Bolland in the centre together will not work.

Ian Baraclough- 6, five in the first, seven in the second. Was poor in the first, struggled to get in the game. Was much better in the second, key to several of our attacks. I'd still like to see Francis and Baldry as the 2 wingers.

Clive Platt- 7, Work rate was outstanding. Won his fair share of flick-ons and I thought he had his best game yet. Good for him to get off the mark, he deserved it. Lets not boo him Notts fans, whether you think he's good enough or not, it's not fair.

Mark Stallard- 8, Star man. Scored an excellent early header and was central to most things Notts did. Could of added to his tally in the second half, but in my opinion was Notts' best player on the day.

Subs

Kevin Nicholson (On 40- Richardson)- 7, Much, much better. His best game by a mile this season. Put in some tackles, wasn't torn to shreds by their right winger. Gave us an added dimension when he came on, much, much better from Kev.

Darren Caskey (On 45- Bolland)- 7, Another one I thought was better. Ran more than usual and I'd still play him instead of one of Bolland/Brough despite his faults. I still feel he was lucky to get on ahead of McFaul, though.

Subs Not Used:
Hackworth, Garden, McFaul.
