Late leveller denies Notts

Foy's last gasp equaliser saved a point for Wrexham when they seemed destined to suffer their first home defeat since they lost 1-0 against Carlisle in August.

He was sent on as substitute for defender Matt Crowell on 85 minutes, straight after County had taken the lead. His chance came in the fourth minute of added time when he latched on to a through ball from Jon Walters, raced up to the edge of the penalty area and slid a firm shot wide of the advancing keeper Kevin Pilkington.

Perhaps it was rough justice for County, who appeared guilty of time wasting earlier in a scrappy the game, content to take a point from a goalless draw.

They scored when Liam Needham planted a corner to the far post where Jake Sheridan beat Michael Ingham from close range.

Wrexham dominated early on and Jon Walters broke through to cut in from the left and net a low shot from 15 yards, but it was disallowed for a foul further up field as referee Neil Swarbrick awarded County a free-kick to cut the home crowd's celebrations short.

Wrexham continued to press and County lived dangerously as Robert Ullathorne headed off the line from Dave Bayliss, Emmet Friars headed out from Walters and Wilson denied Walters by heading the Wrexham striker's shot away from under the crossbar.

Wrexham had a setback when their Caribbean centre-half Dennis Lawrence, who will be playing for Trinidad against England in the World Cup, went off with a strained chest muscle just before half time.

Wrexham kept the pressure and went close with a shot from Darren Ferguson that Lewis McMahon deflected for a corner; before Lee McEvilly broke on the left and fired an angled shot into the side netting.

For County, Andy White headed over and White forced the home keeper to make a diving save.
