Kidderminster Harriers and Notts County have launched their Coca Cola League Two campaign with two successive draws, following a goalless deadlock at Aggborough.

County, who drew 1-1 at home to Chester on Saturday, went closest to bagging maximum points when the hit the woodwork twice immediately after half-time.

Kidderminster however, had their chances but had to be content with another blank scoresheet, after a 0-0 battle at Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday.

The Magpies made a bright start and Kidderminster keeper John Danby did well to cut out a cross-shot by Ian Richardson and then punched away a close-range header from Julien Baudet.

Jan Molby's men however, gradually began to get into their stride with on-loan front-runner Simon Brown causing the visitors the most problems.

Firstly he had a penalty appeal turned down after a clash with David Pipe and then had an angled shot from the edge of the area flash just wide.

He followed up with a throughball to Ian Foster who had a shot pushed away for a fruitless corner by keeper Wayne Henderson.

Five minutes before the break the eye-catching Brown saw his 20-yard drive whistle narrowly off target.

County came out all guns blazing in the second half and struck the woodwork twice within the opening minute.

Firstly, Rob Ullathorne had a cross shot tipped on to the bar and cleared by the alert Danby, before Glynn Hurst was unlucky with a looping overhead flick which clipped the top of the bar.

Kidderminster however, quickly composed themselves and striker Youssou Diop lashed in a fierce drive which was disallowed for offside.

Dean Keates also had a shot stopped on the line by Kelvin Wilson, before substitute striker Scott Rickards saw a stoppage time effort go agonisingly wide.

Apart from the two shots which hit the bar County also went close to opening the scoring during the first half with a shot from Tony Scully which was not far off target.
