Forte and Facey make it four in five

Double: Forte scored twice
It was Notts County, not Bradford City, who looked the promotion outfit and fully deserved their emphatic win.

Notts County were orchestrated in midfield by Adam Nowland and their two-goal hero was Jonathan Forte.

Forte is in his second loan spell from Scunthorpe United. In his first, he notched four goals - all away from home - and now he gave the home fans a sample of his finishing acumen.

County broke the deadlock after 11 minutes after Bradford had spurned an early chance, the unmarked Matt Clarke heading badly wide from a set-piece.

The goal that ended the stalemate was a lightning breakaway led by Jamie Forrester who, after a surging run, picked out Forte, who swept the ball passed the advancing Rhys Evans.

Just over the half-hour mark Forte got his and County's second. This time the provider was Myles Weston with a deft ball into the box which Forte controlled well, swivelled and shot home from ten yards.

One minute into first-half added time County secured the killer goal.

Again Weston was involved in the build-up and this time Delroy Facey met his ball to the back stick to send Notts in at the break with a commanding lead.

Bradford improved in the second half, partly through the introduction of Joe Colbeck, whose pace proved troublesome and the visitors were unlucky when Jamie Clapham cleared off his own goalline with just over an hour played.

When Bradford pulled a goal back in the closing stages it was inevitable that Peter Thorne should be the scorer.

He had hit six goals against Notts in three previous matches and popped up with an easy seventh when Colbeck's cross deceived both Clapham and Kevin Pilkington.
