County 1 - 2 Forest

Last updated : 30 July 2007 By Gary Moss
There were scenes of erruption at Meadow Lane tonight following County's pre-season defeat to League One Forest.

Luke Chambers scored twice for the Reds as they narrowly overcame the Magpies.

But, it was the games aftermath that caused the biggest stir as both sets of supporters stormed the pitch and brawled the conclusion of this friendly game.

The match was played in its usual hostile atmosphere with former County centre-back booed throughout.

Dudfield...Clever play to set up Mackenzie
The football itself was fairly even.

Forest were quick out the blocks as Chambers netted in the fourth minute to capitalise on sloppy keeping from Kevin Pilkington.

Notts drew level before the break as Lawrie Dudfield set up Neil Mackenzie for his first goal for the club.

Both sides continued to scrap but Chambers popped up once more to seal the win in the second half.

Boss Steve Thompson will be pleased with his teams work ethic but will demand a higher level of play leading into the campaign.
