3 games: Still goalless; still pointless.

Swindon Town manager Andy King hailed striker Tommy Mooney after their comfortable 4-0 win against Notts County.

Mooney scored one and made two others as the home side ran riot against the debt ridden County side.

King said: "Tommy is a natural goalscorer and with Sam Parkin I feel I have the best two strikers in the league. Tommy took his goal very well today and created two others which shows the depth of his game." The home side looked the likely winners from the start and Mooney had a goal disallowed after only 60 seconds when Parkin was adjudged to a fouled defender Ian Richardson.

Mooney was again in the thick of the action moments later when he ran clear only to see his shot go well wide.

The visitors held out until the eighth minute when they failed to clear a Sammy Igoe cross and Matt Hewlett volleyed home from 25 yards out to give Swindon the lead.

And only minutes later Mooney ceased upon a short back pass by Darren Caskey to round keeper Steve Mildenhall to slot home the second goal.

Swindon were creating all the chances and Mildenhall was again called into action on 32 minutes when he palmed away Stefani Miglioranzi point-blank shot.

The home side added a third soon after the interval when Mooney's effort came back off the post and strike partner Parkin bundled home the rebound.

And the game was sealed in the 50th minute when Mooney's clever flick fell to Sammy Igoe who drove between keeper Mildenhall's legs to add the fourth.

The influential Igoe's afternoon turned sour on 64 minutes when he was sent off for head butting substitute Paul Heffernan.

The visitor's began to create a few half chances and Swindon keeper Bart Griemink had to beat away Heffernan's powerful shot from eight yards on 79 minutes.

In injury time Clive Platt had two efforts that went close but it was the home side who ended with a comprehensive victory.
