Following the news that Bangor City striker Chris Sharp is to spend next week on trial at Meadow Lane, NCM take a look at the former Rhyl striker and what he can offer the Magpies. Sharp started his career with Rhyl, coming through the youth system, and impressed before a horrific broken leg against FK Suduva in the UEFA Cup saw him miss over a season. After his return he left Rhyl to join local rivals Bangor City, and became a reborn player, with 27 goals in all competitions in his first season at The Citizens.
Wrexham manager Dean Saunders has already had a look at Sharp with a trial period, and now Ian McParland is keen to take a closer look at the forward. The 23 year-old is a lethal finisher, but also has strength and pace, which means there is good potential for the coaching staff at Meadow Lane to work with, should he impress enough to gain a deal during his trial period. The step up from the League of Wales to the Football League is a large one, but players such as Owain Tudor-Jones of Norwich City have shown it is possible.
A number of video clips of Chris Sharp's goals for Bangor City can be found here.
