Young Owl set to sign?

20-year-old McMahon has been released by Wednesday after their promotion to the Championship, with Owls' boss Paul Sturrock keen to re-structure his side to cope with the rigours of second tier football.

The nippy midfielder signed for the Owls' as a trainee and has made a total of 31 appearences for Sturrock's men, scoring twice.

He struggled with injury during last season's promotion campaign, making just two substitute appearences after November after he had previously established himself in the team up until that point.

And, with Wednesday fans on the NCM messageboard stating that the midfielder will sign for the Magpies tomorrow, it seems likely that the youngster will become Thordarson's second signing as boss, following on from goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington.

After NCM got there first with the transfers of Stefan Oakes, Pilkington and Paul Bolland, could McMahon represent NCM's fourth consecutive transfer coup in a row?
