Young Wycombe Wanderers' midfielder Matt Richards yesterday signed on loan until the end of the season and could go straight into the squad for tomorrow's Sincil Bank fixture.

Ian McParland has brought the 19-year-old England Youth international to Meadow Lane until the end of the season after being impressed on his scouting trips.

"Matt is a player we're keen to have a look at," he said.

"I've seen him a few times this season and have been impressed."

Should he make an impression the Magpies may be able to bring the former Derby trainee to the club on a permanent deal, unless his parent club decide to activate an extension clause in his current contract.

At the moment that is set to expire at the end of this season but the Chairboys' boss Peter Taylor is able to stretch that by another year if he wishes.

Jonathan Forte also had another month added to his loan stay which has pleased the Notts faithful.

In the site's latest poll a whopping 89.7 percent of fans declared that they wanted him to join permanently in the summer.

The quick Scunthorpe forward will hope to return to the starting line-up but Jamie Forrester may be selected to spearhead the attack against his former team.

Russell Hoult is expected to return from his drawn-out shoulder injury next month while defensive duo Stephen Hunt and Jamie Clapham are both doubts.
